塔尔萨清唱剧合唱团

  作为俄克拉荷马州的首席艺术组织,塔尔萨清唱剧合唱团力图展现这一地区最好的合唱音乐。成立于1992年的塔尔萨清唱剧为听众带来鼓舞人心的音乐,它是由100位杰出、资深的音乐家志愿者组成的声乐合唱组织,一同分享伟大合唱音乐的激情,奉献古典音乐艺术表演。塔尔萨清唱剧合唱的使命是提升人们的音乐生活水平,把合唱杰作带给塔尔萨和周围地区的观众。除了保证每年都举办的合唱作品音乐会,塔尔萨的清唱剧合唱还在墨西哥、希腊、意大利、英格兰和爱尔兰地区进行旅行演出音乐会。


  Tulsa Oratorio Chorus
As one of the premier fine arts organizations of Oklahoma, Tulsa Oratorio Chorus seeks to present the very best of choral music to the region. Inspiring audiences since 1992, Tulsa Oratorio Chorus is a 100 voice choral organization of talented and dedicated volunteer musicians who share a passion for great choral music and dedication to the art of classical music performance. The mission of Tulsa Oratorio Chorus is to elevate the human condition, bringing choral masterpieces to audiences in Tulsa and the surrounding region. In addition to maintaining an annual concert series of choral masterworks, the Tulsa Oratorio Chorus has performed concert tours in Mexico, Greece, Italy, England, and Ireland.


Tim Sharp 

Tim Sharp is Executive Director of the American Choral Directors Association, the world’s largest association of choral conductors, students, scholars, composers, and choral industry representatives. Dr. Sharp pursues an aggressive agenda of strategic planning and innovative initiatives to keep the American Choral Directors Association energized and relevant in the 21st century. He represents choral activity in the United States to the International Federation for Choral Music, is Vice-President of the Musical International database, and appears regularly as guest conductor and choral clinician throughout the world.
Tim is in his ninth season as Artistic Director of the Tulsa Oratorio Chorus, Tulsa, OK, where critics characterize his performances as having “stunning power” and “great passion and precision”. In a recent review of the Tulsa Oratorio Chorus’ performance of Mozart’s Requiem, arts critic James Watts stated, “The Tulsa Oratorio Chorus, prepared by its artistic director Tim Sharp, was in excellent form, summoning up rafter-shaking power…and showing great sensitivity ...”
Dr. Sharp is Principal Guest Conductor of the Leonardo Da Vinci International Choral Festival in Florence, Italy. In 2016, he served as chorus master for the annual Classical Musical Festival, Eisenstadt, Austria, where Tulsa Oratorio Chorus performed Joseph Haydn’s Stabat Mater, Mass in Time of War, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 (Choral).In 2011, Sharp served as Principal Guest Conductor at the International Festival of the Aegean in Syros, Greece, where TOC was the featured chorus in the production of Verdi’s La Traviata, and performed Rachmaninov’s All Night Vigil at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. He made his New York City Alice Tully Hall debut in 2014 conducting Handel's Messiah. Tim returned to Carnegie Hall in April of 2017 for the eighth time, on this occasion conducting his composition Come Away to the Skies: A High Lonesome Bluegrass Mass. Tim has conducted and played bluegrass banjo on this work in over one hundred performances throughout the United States, Canada, England, and Ireland. Critics have characterized this multi-movement work as “dynamic”, “crowd-pleasing”, and described the composition as “…unfailingly true to itself, lacking in pretense, simple, direct, and heartfelt.” 
Before coming to ACDA, Sharp was Dean of Fine Arts at Rhodes College, Memphis, TN, where he held the Elizabeth Daughdrill Endowed Chair in Fine Arts. At Rhodes, Tim conducted Rhodes Singers and MasterSingers Chorale. In 2003, Sharp’s production of Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi won an Ostrander Award, Memphis’ annual award for excellence in theater. While in Memphis, Tim served as archivist for The Blues Foundation, and returns to Memphis each year to adjudicate the International Blues Challenge. Prior to his position in Memphis he was Director of Choral Activities at Belmont University, Nashville, TN, where he conducted the Belmont University Chorale and Oratorio Chorus. While in Nashville, he received choral credits on the Grammy Nominated and Dove Award winning recording, A Glen Campbell Christmas.
Dr. Sharp’s publications include Collaborating in the Ensemble Arts: Working and Playing Well with Others, Mentoring in the Ensemble Arts: Helping Others Find Their Voice, Precision Conducting, Up Front! Becoming the Complete Choral Conductor, Achieving Choral Blend and Balance, Memphis Music Before the Blues, Nashville Music Before Country, Jubilate! Amen!, The German Songbook in the 19th Century, A Short History of the American Choral Directors Association, Collaborative Creativity, and a wide variety of published articles, essays, and CD liner notes for recordings by Helmuth Rilling, Iona Brown, Neville Marriner, Michael Kelly Blanchard, and The King’s Singers. His most recent book publications include the historical-critical edition Johannes Herbst: Hymns to be Sung at the Pianoforte, published by Steglein, and Innovation in the Ensemble Arts: Sustaining Creativity, published by GIA.
Dr. Sharp’s choral compositions and arrangements exhibit his interest in conceptual programming, exemplified by the choral collection Salvation is Created, An Early American Service of Lessons and Carols, the Integra Music young voices series including Christmas Messiah for Young Voices and Vivaldi’s Gloria for Young Voices, his own choral series through Gentry Publications, and his self-published bluegrass mass, co-created with Wes Ramsay, Come Away to the Skies: A High Lonesome Bluegrass Mass.

Tim received his education at Bluefield College (AA), Belmont University (BM); The School of Church Music, Louisville, KY (MCM; DMA); and studied further at the Aspen Music School, Aspen, CO; the NEH Medieval Studies program at Harvard University, Cambridge, MA; throughout Belgium on a Rotary Scholarship; and at Cambridge University (UK), where he is a Clare Hall Life Fellow.
